which he might have taken or availed himself of if this section

had not been enacted.

132.- (1) A copy of a by-law made by the Council, if

purporting to be printed by the Government printer, shall be

received in evidence by all courts in the Colony without any

proof being given that the copy was so printed.

(2) In this section "Government printer" means the

printer purporting to be the printer authorized to print the

Ordinances of the Colony or otherwise to be the Government

printer.

Deposit. Inspection &c., of Documents.

133. All records and documents relating to the business

of the Council shall be in the custody of the clerk of the

Council and they shall be kept as the Council direct.

134. (1) In any case in which a map, plan or other

document of any description is deposited with the clerk of the

Council pursuant to any enactment, the clerk of the Council

shall receive and retain the document in the manner and for

the purposes directed by the enactment, and shall make such

memorials and endorsements on, and give such acknowledgments

and receipts in respect of the document, as may be so directed.

(2) Subject to any provisions to the contrary in any

other enactment, a person interested in any such map, plan or

other document deposited as aforesaid may, at all reasonable

hours, inspect and make copies thereof or extracts therefrom

upon payment to the clerk of the Council of the sum of

dollar for every such inspection, and of the further sum of one

dollar for every hour during which such inspection continues

after the first hour.

(3) If the clerk of the Council or any other person having

custody on behalf of the Council of any map, plan or other

document as aforesaid obstructs any person in inspecting the

document or making a copy thereof or extract therefrom, he shall

be liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding one

hundred dollars.
